VCU likely shut the mouths of many who said that the No. 11 seed didn’t belong in the NCAA Basketball Tournament after a decisive rout of No. 6 seed Georgetown 74-56 in Chicago on Friday night.
The Rams’ Brandon Rozzell chose a great time to tie his career high in points with 26 including six 3 point buckets. Joey Rodriguez dropped 17 points and dished out seven assists shaking off a personal two game slump. In his previous two games versus UAB in the First Four and ODU in the CAA Tournament, he was a combined 6-22 from the field for 16 points.

VCU moves on to face No. 3 seeded Purdue on Sunday at 7:10pm EST for a trip to the Sweet Sixteen.
