Dexter Moody, Former UGA Football Signee, Enrolling At Georgia State

Former Georgia Bulldogs signee Dexter Moody has enrolled at Georgia State, and will be eligible to play for the Panthers in 2011, sources have confirmed. The linebacker's status has been up in the air since March 2009, when UGA revoked his letter-of-intent after he was suspended by his high school team for threatening a teacher.

Moody played at Twin City, Georgia's Emanual County Institute and counts fellow Athens departee Washaun Ealey among his friends. Rated a three-star LB out of high school, he was ranked the No. 17 at his position in the country and the No. 23 prospect in the state -- though of course that's all based on a high school career that ended years ago.

Considering starting OLB Femi Opanubi was dismissed from the team before spring practice, Moody could be in line to start as early as Week 1 if all goes well. Moody had previously mentioned the Florida Gators, Central Michigan ChippewasCincinnati Bearcats and UAB Blazers among programs with whom he was trying to catch on. After leaving Georgia he attended a Kansas community college while trying to find the next step of his football career.
