The Georgia State Panthers are starting things off in the FBS with some big challenges, including playing at West Virginia and Alabama.
The Georgia State Panthers' 2013 schedule shows them starting off their time in the FBS with some high profile opponents, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The Panthers have scheduled games against top-ranked teams, some of whom regularly contend for the national title. They play the Alabama Crimson Tide and the West Virginia Mountaineers in their debut season.
The Panthers also announced games in seasons 2014-15. They will host Air Force in 2014, and head on the road to face the Oregon Ducks in 2015.
The complete lineup of games announced on Wednesday:
2013
Sept. 7 vs. Chattanooga
Sept. 14 at West Virginia
Sept. 21 vs. Jacksonville State
Oct. 5 at Alabama
2014
vs. Air Force
2015
at Oregon
2016
at Air Force
The Georgia State football program debuted in 2010, and is moving from the Colonial Athletic Association to the Sun Belt Conference for 2013. They will be eligible for bowls in 2014. The Panthers are currently 0-6 in 2012.
