Georgia State running back Rosevelt Watson looks to end his career on a high note after an injury has the senior primed for a significant increase in playing time.

Georgia State senior running back Rosevelt Watson wants to finish his Panthers career on a high note as he takes a larger role in GSU's final three games, starting with James Madison this Saturday.

Watson has been a lightly used backup in his two seasons at GSU, but a season ending MCL sprain to starter Donald Russell has given Watson a chance to see a significant increase in playing time to end his career, which has had its fair share of highs and lows.

Watson originally signed with Division II Northwood University in Midland, MI, but Watson didn't like the distance from his Lake Worth, FL home and left the program after just one season. Watson saw the opportunity at Georgia State and decided to transfer to Atlanta.

Watson was the starter for Georgia State during during the Panthers' inaugural season in 2010, finishing with 170 yards. 2011 a disaster for Watson however after he tore the PCL in his right knee and was only able to play in two games and record just one carry.

With Russell out, Watson will be one of three backs that will try to replace the production of the two year starter, but

Even though Watson won't move on to the next level, he's already finished a degree in sociology and is set to finish his second in math education. Watson will use his degrees to teach and start a career in coaching, telling Doug Roberson that he's excited that the game will still be a part in his life.

"I love football," he said. "I want football to stay around."
