Aquinas high school running back Brendan Douglas verbally committed to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Monday night, according to Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Carvell says Douglas received a phone call from Yellow Jackets' head coach Paul Johnson, and when offered a scholarship, Douglas committed on the spot.
The 5'10, 210-pound Douglas rushed for 1,369 yards and 22 touchdowns at Aquinas this year while also leading the Irish with 140 tackles. As a junior, Douglas rushed for 1,569 yards and 27 touchdowns, while also recording 121 tackles on defense.
Douglas is the 15th commitment for the Yellow Jackets this year and is a two-star recruit according to the 247 Sports Compisite, which combines the rankings from all of the major recruiting services. Douglas committed to Georgia Tech over an offer from Georgia Southern, where both his older brother and his father played football.
Douglas will play the B-Back position for the Yellow Jackets when he arrives on campus.
