Two touchdowns in the first nine minutes of the second half have given the Georgia Bulldogs a 42-3 lead over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets midway through the third quarter, effectively ending Tech's already slim chances at a comeback. The Bulldogs have scored touchdowns on six of their seven drives today, while also setting a new school record for points scored in a season. This rivalry has produced a high frequency of close games, but today's is not one of them.
Jay Rome caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Murray to open the second half scoring. After forcing a Georgia Tech punt, Keith Marshall scored on a 17-yard run around the right side. The touchdown came a few plays after Georgia went for it on fourth-and-one to keep the drive alive.
Marshall and Todd Gurley both have two touchdowns on the day, and will likely spend the end of the game on the bench to avoid injury.
