The Yellow Jackets couldn't overcome self-inflicted wounds in Wednesday night's loss to Purdue.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team fell to 3-3 on Wednesday night after a loss to the No. 14 Purdue Boilermakers, 85-73. Tech had nearly twice as many turnovers as Purdue, and the Boilermakers made the most of the 15 personal fouls the Yellow Jackets committed. Purdue shot 11-of-13 at the line, compared to 6-of-10 for Georgia Tech.

KK Houser was the leading scorer for Purdue. The redshirt junior put up 12 points in 16 minutes, including shooting 8-of-8 on free throws. Tyaunna Marshall led things for the Yellow Jackets with 12 points in 17 minutes. Junior Dawnn Maye was another big part of the effort, with nine points, four rebounds and five assists.

The Yellow Jackets could have used the momentum of a win; they've lost two of their last three as they head into a game against rivals the Georgia Bulldogs, who are currently the No. 8 women's basketball team in the nation.
