Tyaunna Marshall scored 28 points in the easy victory over the Braves
The Georgia Tech women's basketball team hasn't had the easiest road lately -- coming into Sunday, they were in the middle of a three-game losing streak and had lost four of their last five -- but the Yellow Jackets turned everything around against Alcorn State en route to a 76-49 win.
In their return to McCamish Pavilion for the first time in two weeks, Tyaunna Marshall spearheaded the Jackets' return to the win column, scoring 28 points and pulling down five rebounds. Her efforts were bookended by 12 points and 10 assists from guard Dawnn Maye and 14 points and eight rebounds from Aaliyah Whiteside.
The scoring got lopsided early for the Yellow Jackets, breaking open a 15-0 run after opening up the game tied at 11 -- a big enough margin that never got substantially closer.
After facing a tough stretch where they played Georgia and perennial power Duke, the 4-5 Yellow Jackets will now try and keep up their winning ways against visiting Washington just five days from now. The team hits the road after Christmas.
