Georgia Tech kicker David Scully missed two of his five extra-point attempts against Maryland on Saturday, as the Yellow Jackets' kicking game continues to struggle this season.
One of the attempts bounced off the upright, while the other was blocked by the defensive line. Saturday marked the first time that Georgia Tech missed two extra-point tries in the same game since 1993, when they accomplished the feat against Duke, according to Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson said that Scully is a "better kicker than that" and they need to work on getting him "squared away" as the season continues.
The Yellow Jackets defeated Maryland, 33-13, to improve to 4-5 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. Georgia Tech must win two of their next three games against Duke, North Carolina and Georgia to become bowl eligible this season.
