Linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu had one of the best games of his career against Maryland on Saturday.
Georgia Tech linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu returned home to Maryland to play the Terrapins, posting one of the best games of his career in the Yellow Jackets' 33-13 win.
Attaochu had three sacks, six tackles and one forced fumble that was recovered by the Yellow Jackets, all while playing five minutes from where he grew up. His three sacks in a game tied a career-high that he set against North Carolina in September 2011. He now has five sacks in eight games this season.
Attaochu described the experience to Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as exciting and emotional.
Attaochu attended Archbishop Carroll High School in the Maryland area, where he had 118 tackles and 14 sacks as a senior. He also had four touchdowns in his senior year on the defensive side of the ball. Originally from Nigeria, Attaochu started playing football in the ninth grade and played three seasons of varsity football at linebacker and defensive end.
