Georgia Tech vs. North Carolina odds: Tar Heels open as favorites

The Yellow Jackets are the underdogs for Saturday's game.

The North Carolina Tar Heels opened as 5 1/2-point favorites for Saturday's game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, according to OddsShark.com.

The Tar Heels enter the game with a 6-3 (3-2) record. North Carolina has been on a roll of late, winning five of its last six games. Its only loss in that span came against Duke, 33-30, two weeks ago.

Georgia Tech is 4-5 (3-3) this season. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 33-13 win at Maryland on Saturday. Georgia Tech has won two of its last three games.

The Tar Heels average nearly 40 points per game while allowing just 21 points per game. Georgia Tech's offense has also been solid by averaging 35 points per game, but the Yellow Jackets are allowing, on average, four touchdowns per game.

The Jackets are led by the rushing attack of Orwin Smith, Tevin Washington and Zach Laskey. The three have combined for 1,482 yards and 21 touchdowns.

North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner has completed 62 percent of his passes this season for 2,386 yards. He has 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.
