Georgia Tech's Jeremiah Attaochu was named the linebacker of the week after his performance against Maryland last week.
Jeremiah Attaochu of Georgia Tech recorded a career-high three sacks against the Maryland Terrapins over the weekend, as well as a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and six tackles, earning him ACC linebacker of the week honors.
Attaochu is the second Tech player to earn ACC player of the week this season. Offensive tackle Will Jackson was named offensive lineman of the week following the Virginia game. Attaochu earned the award last season as well, when he had three sacks against North Carolina.
Attaochu's best game of the season was his 13-tackle performance against the Clemson Tigers. That topped his 10 tackles in the season opener against Virginia Tech.
Georgia Tech defeated Maryland, 33-13, to improve its overall record to 4-5 and 3-3 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets finish their ACC schedule against North Carolina and Duke. Their last game of the season is against Georgia.
North Carolina is a 5.5-point favorite against the Yellow Jackets.
