After a six yard gain off of the right tackle, Tevin Washington took a big hit at the Duke 45 and fumbled the ball. Duke recovered, and quickly got into scoring range with a long completion to tight end Cooper Helfet. The Jacket defense came up with a stop on 3rd-and-1, and kicker Will Snyderwine missed a 34 yard field goal attempt that would have tied the game. Snyderwine had made 18 consecutive kicks before that miss.
All season, Tech fans have waited for receiver Stephen Hill to utilize his impressive talents and become an impact player and make the big play. And guess what...he just did that. In a pass very reminiscent to many of Nesbitt's of last year to Demyarius Thomas, Hill went up over a defender, made a touch catch, and ran the rest of the way for a 79 yard score.
Words cannot begin to express how big that play was, both in this game, and in a certain receiver's self-confidence.
