The No. 5 Clemson Tigers are officially on upset alert at halftime, trailing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 24-3, in Atlanta. This is the biggest deficit Clemson has faced during its undefeated run -- it came back from 18 down vs. the Maryland Terrapins.
Tevin Washington added a touchdown to a two-score evening by Orwin Smith, with a fine grab by Stephen Hill setting up the latest housing (and making up for part of an earlier drop). The Jackets have 245 yards and have held the elite Clemson attack to only 104 until a closing-seconds drive, sacking Tajh Boyd and limiting Sammy Watkins to 30 yards from scrimmage.
The mood on Clemson's sideline: uncharacteristically subdued.
