Georgia Tech could be without A-back Orwin Smith after he suffered an undisclosed injury in the Yellow Jackets' loss to Virginia Tech.
The status of Georgia Tech A-back Orwin Smith is in question for Saturday's game against Duke after suffering an injury against Virginia Tech. Smith has been one of the Yellow Jackets' most effective runners this season but has been a part of a rotation that also includes Roddy Jones and Embry Peeples. Smith has carried the ball 53 times this season for 570 yards and 10 touchdowns.
When head coach Paul Johnson met with the media on Tuesday, he didn't elaborate on the injury only saying that he didn't think it was that serious.
Johnson didn't disclose the injury and said he didn't think it was serious, "but if we had to play today, he probably couldn't play."
Johnson is holding out hope that the extra time gained from Tech playing last Thursday will help everyone heal up in time to play against the Blue Devils.
"I don't think we've got any injuries for the next game. I mean, you're always bumped and bruised after you come out of a game. We had a little extra time because it's Thursday night, too."
