ACC Football Schedule: Virginia Trying To Keep Pace With Virginia Tech In Coastal Division

The Cavaliers still have a shot at the ACC Championship, if they can upset Florida State at home before next week's rivalry game against Virginia Tech. Clemson awaits the winner.

While Georgia Tech fine tunes their gameplan for next week's "Good, Old Fashioned Hate" meeting with Georgia on a trip to Duke (12:30pm ET, ACC Network), a host of conference teams will try and become bowl eligible, while the game of the week in the ACC features Virginia trying to keep their surprise run going at Florida State.

Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina (Thursday, 8pm ET, ESPN) The last time Virginia Tech faced North Carolina at home on a Thursday night, the Heels upset the Hokies. Tech will need to be perfect on Thursday night to keep their lead in the Coastal Division and set up a rematch with Clemson in the ACC title game. A win here would also give Va. Tech their eighth consecutive ten-win season, the longest streak in the country.

Wake Forest vs. Maryland (Saturday, 3pm. ET, RSN) The Deacons will attempt to rebound from their almost-upset of Clemson on the road last Saturday by earning bowl eligibility against the hapless Terps, who haven't won a conference game since beating Miami on Labor Day weekend.

NC State vs. Clemson (Saturday, 3:30pm ET, ABC/ESPN) The Wolfpack will arrive in Death Valley as the last potential stumbling block in conference for Clemson, who have already clinched the Atlantic Division and will wrap up their season hosting rival South Carolina next week. If NC State is to earn bowl eligibility, they'll have to beat the Tigers and Maryland next week, as two of their five current wins are against FCS opponents.

USF vs. Miami (Saturday, 3:30pm ET, ESPNU) Is this a burgeoning rivalry? The Bulls' 23-20 overtime shocker of Miami cost former head coach Randy Shannon his job with the Hurricanes last season. This year Al Golden's 5-5 team desperately needs to beat USF and Boston College next Thursday night to show improvement in the program during a turbulent first season.

Notre Dame vs. Boston College (4pm ET, NBC) The Irish will wrap up their three-week tour through the ACC's bottom tier with the 3-7 Eagles, after beating Maryland last week and Wake Forest the week prior. The Eagles will enter Saturday's "Holy War" in South Bend off of a 14-10 upset of North Carolina, but Notre Dame has won three straight en route to a season ending showdown with Stanford.

Florida State vs. Virginia (7:30pm ET, ESPN2) The strongest game on the conference schedule this week - the 7-3 Cavaliers are the upstart team of the year, and could keep pace with Coastal Division leading Virginia Tech with a win against the Seminoles. Florida State has won five straight since a three-game losing skid, and have only lost to UVA twice in school history.
