Sun Bowl 2011: Georgia Tech OT Phil Smith Sent Home, Discipline Issues Mounting

offensive tackle Phil Smith has been sent home from Sun Bowl for violating team rules. --

Redshirt sophomore tackle Tyler Kidney would be next in line to start for the Georgia Tech offense.

Nine days earlier, Johnson had announced that Yellow Jackets starting CB Louis Young would be also held out of the Sun Bowl for "disciplinary reasons" and that punishment could extend into next season. Smith could face a similar fate going into his senior season in 2012.
