2011 ACC Baseball Tournament: Georgia Tech Vs. FSU Rescheduled To Saturday Due To Rain

Stay connected for news and updates

The 2011 ACC Tournament dealt with some weather issues Friday morning. With No. 5 Miami leading No. 1 Virginia 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the skies opened up forcing a long delay. The game has been pushed back until no earlier than 7 p.m. Friday night. No. 4 North Carolina and No. 8 Wake Forest will play immediately after Miami and Virginia finish.

No. 3 Georgia Tech and No. 2 FSU were scheduled to play Friday afternoon but got bumped until Saturday at 9 a.m. due to the weather. This greatly helps Georgia Tech, who played an ACC Tournament record 15-inning game Thursday night and didn't finish until after 12:30 a.m. Friday morning. The unexpected day of rest will erase what would have been a huge disadvantage for the Jackets.

The other three games on Saturday were bumped back by about an hour each to accommodate the extra game in the morning. No. 6 Clemson and No. 7 NC State are scheduled to play at approximately 12:30, No. 4 Miami and No. 8 Wake Forest at 4 p.m., and No. 1 Virginia and No. 5 North Carolina will finish the day at 7:30 p.m.
