The junior offensive lineman's status for Saturday's game against Boston College remains uncertain.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets center Jay Finch was held out of heavy-contact drills and wore a gold jersey during Wednesday's practice, according to a report in The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Finch's participation during Wednesday's practice draws into question his status and availability for Saturday's game against Boston College. Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson told reporters Finch's playing status for the Yellow Jackets' game against the Eagles would be determined on Thursday or Friday.

The 6'3", 285-pound offensive lineman injured his calf during Georgia Tech's 47-31 loss to Clemson.

If Finch is unable to play, Johnson said that the duo of sophomore Catlin Alford and senior Nick McRae would fill in at center.

Coming off a bye week, Georgia Tech (2-4, 1-3 ACC) is looking to snap a three game losing streak against Boston College (1-5, 0-3). The Yellow Jackets have lost to Clemson, Middle Tennessee State and Miami in three consecutive weeks. Their last win came against Virginia on Sept. 15.
