Kevin Liles-US PRESSWIRE

Kicker Justin Moore will handle Georgia Tech's kicking duties while David Scully recovers from a hip injury, but there are still issues in the Jackets' kicking game.

Georgia Tech placekicker Justin Moore is replacing David Scully against BYU on Saturday, but the kicking game is still a concern for the Jackets with either player. Moore, who was a sure thing last season on extra point attempts, missed one against Boston College and missed a 41-yard field goal as well.

He's replacing Scully, who is nursing a hip injury that bothered him in the Boston College game. Together, Moore and Scully have missed five of their last seven kicks, and cfbstats.com says their 4-for-9 mark on the season is tied for 115th in FBS for accuracy.

Tech head coach Paul Johnson said earlier in the week that the kicking game is something they need to get fixed. Johnson called it a mess Saturday. The kickers essentially left 10 points on the field with their missed opportunities in the 20-point victory.

The Jackets play at home against BYU on Saturday looking to gain momentum after a sluggish start to the season.
