Both UGA and Georgia Tech recruited offensive lineman Delando Crooks heavily - that is, before growing impatient of his indecisiveness. Crooks, at 6'5, 270-pound lineman out of Carver-Atlanta, is considered one of the nation's best uncommitted linemen in the country.
He had the Dawgs' and Jackets' attention at one point, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that he is still being heavily recruited by Stanford, Vanderbilt, Purdue and North Carolina, among others.
Tech first decided to move on when they had just one spot left for Crooks and he still hadn't made a decision, according to what his coach at Carver-Atlanta Darren Myles told the AJC. Later on, when a scholarship opened up, the Jackets took another shot at Crooks, but he declined.
Myles said UGA coaches just stopped coming around, which he thinks is more likely a sign that they moved on.
Crooks has excelled in the classroom, holding a 3.5 GPA and 18 hours of college credit.
