Kevin Liles-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Will Jackson was almost sidelined on Saturday to an abnormal heart rate.

An abnormal heart rate kept Georgia Tech offensive lineman Will Jackson sidelined for the second half against Middle Tennessee State. After running tests on it, Jackson was deemed healthy and the lineman will be in uniform on Saturday against Clemson, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

He went to the training room at halftime and asked to have his heart rate checked, at which point medical staff attempted to slow his pulse. Jackson took an EKG, which he said came back normal. He said he was told it was "just kind of a fluke thing, possibly a virus."

On the field, Jackson's role has been in flux. He has rotated between guard and tackle this season.

The redshirt junior was a second team preseason All-ACC member. He started all 13 games during his sophomore season and nine games the season before.

The Yellow Jackets will play Clemson at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
