The first round of the 2012 ACC Tournament opened up on Thusday at Philips Arena in Atlanta. In the second game of the conference championship tournament, the No. 12 seed Boston College Eagles (9-21, 4-12 ACC) are taking on the No. 5 seed N.C. State Wolfpack (20-11, 9-7 ACC). Through the first half, it has been all Wolfpack, as they hold a 37-24 lead at the half.
N.C. State opened the game by going on a 23-6 run, including scoring the first 14 points of the game unanswered. The Eagles have often looked just as hopeless as that stretch of play would indicate. They managed to close the gap a bit, but still trail by 13 points entering the break. Scott Wood of N.C. State leads all scorers with 14 points.
The winner of this game will advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, where they will face off against the No. 4 Virginia Cavaliers.
