North Carolina Vs. Maryland Final Score: Tar Heels Advance To ACC Tournament Semifinal

Stay connected for news and updates

Even without John Henson since the first half of the game against the Maryland Terrapins in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament, the North Carolina Tar Heels breezed past Maryland 85-69 on Friday afternoon.

The Tar Heels never really had trouble with the Terrapins, jumping out to a 36-26 halftime lead, with Tyler Zeller stepping up big for North Carolina in the first period.

Then, the Tar Heels just opened it up on the Terrapins, completely overwhelming them with what many experts considered to be the most talented team in the country coming into the season.

Terrell Stoglin had an outstanding performance for Maryland in the loss, with 30 points on 11-of-24 shooting from the field, which included five three-pointers.

Harrison Barnes and Reggie Bullock scored 15 points apiece to lead the Tar Heels. Tyler Zeller and James Michael McAdoo each added 14 points.

North Carolina will play the winner of Virginia and the N.C. State Wolfpack in the ACC semifinal round.
