North Carolina State finished the first half of their quarterfinal game against Virginia with a 36-32 lead.
With half a minute left in the half, Virginia had a 33-32 lead. Scott Wood hit a three-point shot for the Wolfpack a second left on the clock to take the lead back. He added another point on a free throw to end the half. It has been that kind of game in Atlanta.
C.J. Leslie leads North Carolina State with 10 points and six rebounds. Leslie is the only player on either team with double digit scoring through the first half. He is a perfect five-for-five from the field.
Joe Harris has nine points for the Cavaliers, hitting four of five free throws. Akil Mitchell and Mike Scott have each have eight points, and Mitchell lead the team with six rebounds.
The difference so far has been the Wolfpack's effectiveness from the field, hitting 59.3 percent of their shots. The Cavaliers are not too far behind with 52 percent. If the first half was any indication of what the second half will be like, this game could come down to the wire.
