Imagine this: a Georgia Tech offense coached by Paul Johnson in which a quarterback takes a snap from several yards behind his center, as in from the shotgun formation. Sounds crazy, right?

Perhaps not as much as you would think.

The entire Georgia Tech offense is working to diversify its look this offseason, and that includes the exploration of, yes, shotgun snaps.

Johnson admitted as such, saying, "We've been working on it all spring. It's something we put a lot of it in for the bowl game. We just didn't do it."

The Yellow Jackets have been amongst the nation's top running teams since Johnson assumed the role as head coach, although the implementation of shotgun sets could help maximize the talent at receiver the program has been able to produce despite its ground game focus.

Georgia Tech finished 8-5 in 2011.
