Georgia Tech Recruiting: Travis Custis Is Yellow Jackets' First 2013 Commitment

Stay connected for news and updates

Running back Travis Custis has verbally committed to play football for Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech, according to a report.

Custis is a local product who stars at Hampton (Ga.) Lovejoy high school, the alma mater of former Yellow Jackets running back Tashard Choice - now of the Buffalo Bills.

He'll line up as the B-Back in Johnson's flex bone offense, and Bud Elliott of SB Nation compares his running style to Jamaal Anderson - the former Atlanta Falcon who played collegiately at Utah.

The first Georgia Tech recruit for the class of 2013, Custis claims to have also had offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Miami, Mississippi State and South Florida, while receiving additional interest from Clemson, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

As a junior, Custis posted season total of 1,870 yards and 32 touchdowns.
