The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will wrap up spring practice on Friday night with their annual spring football game.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will wrap up spring practice on Friday night. The event is being called "Friday on the Flats" and the move to Friday is part of an effort to make Bobby Dodd Stadium more appealing to the student body. The athletic department is trying to really make it an event by offering pre and post game concerts and a fireworks display following the game.

All of the extra curricular activities are sure to make Paul Johnson smile, but the real show will be on the field as fans get their first look at the 2012 team. Quarterback Vlad Lee figures to receive a ton of playing time after Synjyn Days suffered a wrist injury on Wednesday. Lee and Days have competed throughout the spring for the back-up quarterback job behind Tevin Washington.

The Yellow Jackets have also been toying with the shotgun formation in which Lee has been effective in scrimmages during the spring. How much Paul Johnson elects to use it during the season remains to be seen but it certainly adds a new wrinkle to Tech's triple-option offense.

The game also provides the opportunity for many newcomers and young players to get a look under the lights. Players like Jabari Hunt-Days, running back Robert Godhigh and defensive end Euclid Cummings.

Kick off for the game is set for 7:45 p.m. but many of the festivities get underway around 5:30 p.m.
