The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets landed their lastet verbal commitment in Powder Springs, Ga., defensive back Tolando Cleveland when he decided to commit during a camp at Georgia Tech.
The 6-foot, 180-pound Cleveland chose Georgia Tech over Mississippi State, and he had offers from a dozen other schools. He also had a visit scheduled to see Wake Forest, but that is now not happening since Cleveland committed to Georgia Tech.
Cleveland's Hillgrove high school head coach David Ironside talked about Tolando's abilities and why he chose Georgia Tech:
"Georgia Tech is a good place for Tolando," ronside told the AJC. "I'm sure being close to home helped Georgia Tech, and having two Hillgrove players [QB Synjyn Days and LB Jabari Hunt-Days] already on the team there."
"... with what Tolando does, he's really, really good at - as a cover guy and tackling in the open field. He's as good as we've ever had doing those things."
