Although it has not been confirmed by the school or head coach Paul Johnson, reports indicate that cornerback Louis Young will be suspended to start the season for selling tickets to last seasons game against Georgia. Johnson acknowledged that there were "players" that woudn't be playing in the opening game due to suspension but declined revealing who those players might be.
"We've got some guys that will be sitting out the first game," coach Paul Johnson said. "We'll let you know who they are about a week from the game."
However the AJC reports that Young sold complimentary tickets to a friend. He was suspended from the Sun Bowl and it is likely that the season opening game is a part of that suspension. Johnson is in no hurry to reveal to Virginia Tech who the Yellow Jackets will have or not have in advance of their season opening game so an announcement isn't likely until the week before the season begins.
The Yellow Jackets have already announced a game and a half suspension for linebacker Daniel Drummond after he plead guilty to boating under the influence back in April.
