Georgia Tech Football Preseason: Paul Johnson Happy With Team's Depth

Stay connected for news and updates

Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson met with the media during Saturday's Media Day activities and took the opportunity to tout his team's depth for the upcoming season.

"I think this is the most depth we've had since we've been here, if you can just go position by position,"

Johnson indicated that the team's depth may be strongest particularly along the offensive and defensive lines. The offensive line returns four starters and the top seven players have a combined 82 career starts. The defensive end position is another particularly deep position with the top four players all returning. That will provide the Yellow Jackets the opportunity to rotate fresh players into the game without losing much production wise.

"There's going to be plays when we literally can't give our all because we're going to be exhausted, so we have somebody who's fresh who can come in and who can play just as productive,"
