Georgia Tech's Synjyn Days might have the early award for most grueling preseason practice schedule: The Georgia Tech quarterback is operating in the Yellow Jackets' unit practices as a QB, only to then switch over and have private practices as an A-back in Tech's triple option scheme.

The move is an effort to best utilize Days, a redshirt sophomore who had limited but promising action in 2011, averaging 4.9 yards a carry and scoring four touchdowns. Days was considered the backup to Tevin Washington last year at quarterback, but his specialty running the ball has Paul Johnson's staff exploring a dual threat role. According to the AJC, Days is going full tilt into life as a running back:

"I was asking the A-backs, like, How do you cut (block), because I’ve never really had to block anybody," Days said. "I’ve been doing some cut blocking on dummies. It seems like it’s working. We’ll see [Tuesday]."
