Georgia Tech Football 2012: Jeremy Moore Leaves Team

Starting wide receiver Jeremy Moore has left the Georgia Tech football team due to personal reasons but will remain enrolled in classes, coach Paul Johnson said Wednesday according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"He had some personal reasons, said that he's struggled with it before," Johnson told the AJC. "It's not the first time he's thought about it. I just wished him well."

After playing just three games throughout his first three years in the program, Moore had established himself on the depth chart this season and started the Yellow Jackets' first three outings. The 6'3", 180-pound wideout caught three passes for 64 yards in Georgia Tech's second game of the season, a 59-3 win over Presbyterian. However, he did not record a catch in either of the team's other two games.

Moore was part of a three-man rotation at wide receiver with Jeff Greene (107 yards, one touchdown) and Darren Waller, who has yet to record a catch. His departure paves the way for Anthony Autry, Chris Jackson or Corey Dennis to move up the depth chart, according to the AJC.

Georgia Tech (2-1) hosts Miami (2-1) Saturday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. ET.
