MTSU vs. Georgia Tech: Louis Young trying to stay upbeat

A suspension and a series of injuries have contributed to a slow start to the 2012 season for the Yellow Jackets DB.

2012 has been a challenging year for Georgia Tech cornerback Louis Young, to say the least.

Young had to miss last year's Sun Bowl as as well as the Yellow Jackets' opener against Virginia Tech after selling his tickets to last year's Georgia game, a serious violation of NCAA rules.

Then, before the season even started, Young fractured his thumb in practice and was forced to play with a cast on his hand for the first few weeks. Now, just when he was getting in his groove, he suffered an upper-body injury against Miami last week that may keep him out of the Middle Tennessee State game on Saturday.

In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Young said he's been trying to stay upbeat and make the most out of his situation:

"It's pretty much made me a stronger player, basically, so really it's a blessing," Young said. "It's kind of added a little fuel to my fire."

The 6'1", 200-pound defensive back has had 2 tackles and 1 interception so far this season.
