The River Club in Suwanee, Georgia will host a sectional qualifier for the 2012 US Open on Monday.
The River Club in Suwanee, Georgia will host a sectional qualifying event for the 2012 US Open on Monday June 4. The event will see 51 golfers are scheduled to participate in the event with the hopes of earning qualification into the 2012 US Open
Sectional qualifying is a grueling two-round, 36 hole event that is played out in one day. There are only a handful of qualifying spots available and the amount at each qualifier is determined by the number of participants as well as the strength of the field.
There are 13 sectional sites with 11 being located in the US and the other two overseas in Japan and England. In all about 750 golfers will take part in the sectional qualifying event where they will be competing for about half of 156 available spots in the 2012 US Open.
