NBA standings 2012: Atlanta Hawks behind Miami Heat after early results

The 2012 NBA season is just underway, and after the first few games the Atlanta Hawks have settled in behind the Miami Heat in the Southeast division standings.

Though it is still early in the season, the 2012 NBA standings in the Southeast Division are shaping up with a look that might become familiar to fans. The Miami Heat are out in front at 4-1, and the Atlanta Hawks are in second place with a 2-1 record. Behind them are the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Bobcats, and the currently winless Washington Wizards.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks lead the Atlantic Division and at 3-0 are the last unbeaten team in the league. The 3-1 Chicago Bulls lead the Central Division. Full Eastern Conference standings are below.
