There's little in the way of excitement for Falcons fans during Thursday's first round of the NFL Draft - Atlanta is without a first round pick following their 2011 blockbuster trade for wide receiver Julio Jones, and won't have a player announced on the podium until late in Friday's second round.

However, local products Cordy Glenn (Georgia) and Stephen Hill (Georgia Tech) are both thought to be first round prospects (Mike Mayock's final mock draft at NFL.com projects Glenn to the Steelers at No. 24 and Hill to the Titans at No. 20).

Falcons fans will have to take solace in Wednesday's trade for cornerback Asante Samuel, as well as a reminder of why they're sitting absent a pick on Thursday night (audio is delightfully ATLien, but decidedly NSFW):

NFL Mock Draft 2012: Cordy Glenn Picked By Bengals

Georgia Bulldogs star offensive lineman Cordy Glenn has been selected in the latest NFL Mock Draft at SB Nation to go to the Cincinnati Bengals as the 21st overall selection and the teams second pick in the first round.

The Bengals are looking to fine-tune their offense and could take a skill position player with this pick, but taking Glenn gives the team a gifted athlete with a nice ability to pick up blitzes, which is definitely an endearing quality if he is going to block for a young quarterback like Andy Dalton.

This was the line Ryan Van Bibber dropped on the Glenn selection after having the Bengals pick corner back Stephen Gilmore of South Carolina at 17th :

"Kind of an unexciting pick these days. The Bengals could be smart to add another offensive skill player here, a receiver or even a running back like Doug Martin. A lineman of Glenn's ability helps the offense too."

NFL Mock Draft 2012: Cordy Glenn To Titans, Stephen Hill To 49ers

In the latest mock draft from the National Football Post, Georgia OG Cordy Glenn and Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill are rising fast into the first round.

Glenn, who was initially seen as a second-or-third round pick, is now being projected to go No. 20 to the Tennessee Titans:

20. Tennessee Titans: Georgia OL Cordy Glenn
Glenn is a powerful body who can maul defenders in the run game and more than hold his own inside vs. the pass. A potential Pro Bowl-caliber option at guard who should be an ideal power player for the Titans.

Hill, meanwhile, has taken advantage of his phenomenal Combine times to work his way into the back end of the first round, with the San Francisco 49ers projected to take him at No. 30:

Hill is going to need to become a more consistent route runner. However, at 6-5 he showcases some natural short-area quickness to his game and knows how to go up and get the football vertically. He's one of the draft's elite size/speed combos at the receiver spot and his stock is on the rise.

2012 NFL Draft: Stephen Hill SB Nation Video Profile

Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill is fast becoming a favorite sleeper pick for teams shopping wideouts in the first round, partly because he's flown under the radar (playing in the Yellow Jackets' triple option will do that - Hill's primary role at Georgia Tech was as a blocker, and he finished with just over 1,500 career receiving yards) compared to Baylor's Kendall Wright and Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon:

Among the teams looking at Hill are the Houston Texans, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills, all of whom are looking for help at the position assuming the Rams will take Blackmon with the No. 6 overall pick. Despite his relative anonymity on the college scene, plenty of clubs are excited about Hill's potential at 6-foot-4, 215 lbs and with blazing speed.

NFL Mock Draft 2012: Cordy Glenn Goes To Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are taking Georgia Bulldogs star offensive lineman Cordy Glenn with the 17th overall pick in the most recent SB Nation mock draft.

The Bengals have a young, second-year quarterback in Andy Dalton who led them to a first round AFC playoff appearance in the 2011 season. Dalton, along with more young talent in Cincinnati, is what the Bengals want to build around and bringing in Glenn would be a step in that direction. That's why this has been a steady pick in the mock draft for the team.

Here is what Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation had to say about the Glenn selection for the Bengals:

"This pick is unchanged from the last mock. Glenn has the makings of an elite lineman. His best position may be guard, but he has the raw athleticism to play left tackle."

Brandon Boykin Still Nursing Senior Bowl Injury

With the NFL Draft just around the corner Brandon Boykin is finding things uncomfortable siting on the sidelines. Boykin suffered a cracked fibula during the senior bowl and was forced to sit out the NFL Combine and Georgia's pro day in Athens.

The injury hasn't hurt Boykin's stock as of yet but it has prevented him from improving it. He is expected to be drafted in either the second or third round of the NFL Draft and has visited with many teams including the Atlanta Falcons. Since he hasn't been cleared to run or workout for teams, Boykin has had to try and impress teams another way.

"The key for me is showing my intelligence [and] my knowledge of the game," Boykin said. "Not being able to do everything at this point, that's all I can really focus on. I can just tell them the things that I'm capable of, but mainly my film work will have to speak for itself."

2012 NFL Draft: Montana CB Trumaine Johnson Works Out For Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have less draft assets to work with than most other NFL franchises as a result of the Julio Jones trade from the 2011 draft, but they’re still doing their homework on mid-round guys who could pay major dividends. Small school cornerback Trumaine Johnson from Montana is one such player who Aaron Wilson reports that the Falcons have worked out privately for the 2012 NFL Draft.

Several other teams are reportedly in on Johnson, who is considered one of the top small school prospects available. Wilson names the Eagles, Bears, Jets and Bengals among others. However, the Falcons history with Montana players might make a difference, writes Len Pasquarelli:

The people who suggest that a team likes guys from certain colleges probably read too much into coincidental preferences. That said, no one should overlook the visit that Montana cornerback Trumaine Johnson made to Atlanta recently. The Falcons have had some success with Montana players (Shann Schillinger, Kroy Biermann) in recent years but, far more important, like Johnson and his size.

Wes Bunting of the National Football Post compares him to Baltimore Ravens corner Jimmy Smith and has him as the No. 11 corner in the draft. He writes:

A talented kid who physically/athletic reminds me a lot of Jimmy Smith (Baltimore Ravens). Now, he’s not as experienced as a pressman as Smith was, but has the same type of upside and can be a similar player if he commits himself fully to the game at the next.

Mel Kiper had Johnson going in the second round to the Lions at No. 54 in his most recent mock. That’s one slot before the Falcons will pick for the first time.

According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the NFL has extended invitations to future draft picks and 26 NFL hopefuls will be attending, which is one more than last year. Of the 26 players attending, two will be coming from Georgia colleges: Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Cordy Glenn and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets wide receiver Stephen Hill.

They are, in alphabetical order: Alabama safety Mark Barron; Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon; LSU defensive tackle Michael Brockers; LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne; North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples; Mississippi State defensive tackle Fletcher Cox; Stanford tight end Coby Fleener; Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd; South Carolina cornerback Stephon Gilmore; Georgia tackle Cordy Glenn; Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III; Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower; Georgia Tech receiver Stephen Hill; South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram; USC tackle Matt Kalil; Alabama cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick; Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck; Boise State linebacker Shea McClellin; USC defensive end Nick Perry; Memphis defensive tackle Dontari Poe; LSU receiver Rueben Randle; Alabama running back Trent Richardson; Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still; Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill; Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw; Baylor receiver Kendall Wright.

Both Glenn and Hill are considered to be first-round talents and could easily find themselves selected by teams in the first round.
