World Series Game 2: Texas Rangers at San Francisco Giants, 7:57, Fox: The Giants pummeled Cliff Lee in last night's series opener, and look to take advantage of their home field edge tonight. C.J. Wilson and Matt Cain take up arms using their arms. You should visit McCovey Chronicles and Lone Star Ball for more on this game and this series, because I spent everything I had in yesterday's writeup.

Basketball

↵

Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic, 8, TNT: John Wall! Also Dwight Howard and the fleet of three-point shooters that encircle him like those little fish that make a livelihood out of picking debris from the bodies of whales. But John Wall! Also Gilbert Arenas, who's presumably not funny anymore. Or John Wall!

↵

Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz, 10:30, TNT: The world's most lovable basketball superstar (unless if you're from Oklahoma) leads the Suns into the post-Amare era, which is almost a palindrome. Get a good look at former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets star Gani Lawal while you're at it. You know, non-Atlantans make fun of the idea that the Thrashers may possibly be constructing a roster that sort of acknowledges the city's demographics, but the Jazz sure have had a lot of white guys over the years.

GAME OF THE DAY! Florida St. Seminoles at N.C. State
Wolfpack, 7:30, ESPN: Yes, ACC football over the World Series or regular season basketball. Regular season basketball will be with us always. You'll have scores of chances to watch regular season basketball once football is over with. But football, even the ACC variety, is fleeting and precious and halfway gone and I'm having trouble breathing. This argument doesn't really apply to the World Series, does it? Well go watch baseball then.

Golf

Nationwide: Tour Championship,
7:30, Golf: If you like golf, this is the golf for you.

Soccer

Columbus Crew at Colorado Rapids, 9, ESPN2: Even if you hate soccer, this is the soccer for you because there is no other soccer tonight.
