Georgia Tech Women's Basketball Hosts No. 1 UConn Huskies

The Georgia Tech women's basketball team hosts the No. 1 ranked and two-time defending national champion Connecticut Huskies Sunday afternoon. The visitors are riding an 80-game win streak.

UConn is led by Maya Moore, a senior from the Atlanta area who played her high school basketball at Collins Hill in Gwinnett. Alexander Memorial is packed, and is the largest crowd in Tech Women's history. A very large percentage are Maya Moore fans, and are making their presence felt anytime she does anything.

Tech played a special part in the long winning streak for the Huskies, as the Jackets were the first team to lose and start the streak. Tech only lost by 11, which stands as the fifth closest margin of victory for UConn during the 80 games. The Jackets scored 71 points, which is tied for the second most by any opponent.

Through about 10 minutes of play, UConn holds a 14 point lead at 25-11. The two teams were tied at 11-11, but Maya Moore quickly led the Huskies on a 14-0 run that spanned five minutes.
