Thrash has always proven to be the Thrashers’ biggest PR asset, being random and only mildly offensive – but always funny – at games and other events. He’s the public goodwill ambassador of the team at charity events, and now apparently he’s ticked off.
↵In hopes of trying to get people to come watch the Thrashers play hockey, he stole a Zamboni from the Duluth Ice Forum and planned to drive it 25 miles down the interstate to Philips Arena with a “Buy Tickets, Atlanta” sign taped to the side. Didn’t work, and he’s been arrested by the Gwinnett County Sherriff’s Office.
↵You know what’d probably help get him out? A sell-out on Thursday or Saturday (preferably Thursday, but more likely Saturday when Ilya Kovalchuk comes back). I think that’s do-able, if not to just free Thrash, but to see what is probably the best Thrashers team in history assembled win a few games.
