First up is an article on the effectiveness and role of Dustin Byfuglien by Jim Neveau of The Hockey Writers. It’s got extensive data on just why Byfuglien’s so effective, and what has prompted the offensive uptick upon his arrival from Chicago and his move to defense.
↵Also worth the read is NESN analyst for the Boston Bruins, Jack Edwards, singing the Thrashers’ praises. You might remember the Thrashers’ defeat of the Bruins on Sunday, and that the NESN guys called out the Thrashers fans on not being there. This is a continuation of this, but a positive one – the team’s hot. Get off your butts and go to a game.
↵↵↵Now, I understand that football is rather important in Atlanta. The Falcons have the entire region fixated, and we in New England couldn’t be happier for Matt Ryan after watching him blossom at Boston College. I know that UGA, Georgia Tech and nearby Auburn are obsessions with many. That’s terrific. But if you ever tire of a game that stops every four seconds, a game in which the ball is in play for about 17 minutes over the course of three and a half hours, and want a little bit more action in a game that takes place more than once a week, you ought to try to catch one of these hockey games.

Couldn’t agree more. Snag a seat for Monday’s game against Nashville. You won’t regret it.
