After a disappointing Old Spice Classic that included two losses and a narrow defeat of the mighty Manhattan Jaspers, the Georgia Bulldogs can get it right at home against the UAB Blazers. But they'll need to play just about their best game of the young season to top a good and experienced team whose only loss was a three-point road slip against the Arizona St. Sun Devils.
Last year the Blazers blew out the Dawgs 72-56 in Birmingham. They also topped the N.C. State Wolfpack and hung near the North Carolina Tar Heels, plus they beat the Arkansas Razorbacks just a few games ago, so taking down big-conference foes is kind of their thing.
Senior point guard Aaron Johnson leads the nation in assists per game, while six-foot-ten forward Cameron Moore, guard Jamarr Sanders, and delightfully named forward Ovie Soko score double figures. Moore is damn near a 20-10 guy, and his matchup with Trey Thompkins will be one to watch.
