Georgia Basketball Schedule: Eastern Kentucky Colonels Visit Athens to Wrap Up Non-Conference Play

The road is about to get much more difficult but in the mean time, Georgia basketball will look to wrap up its non conference schedule today with a victory over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels. The Dawgs have won seven straight games, most recently having defeated Charleston Southern 70-55. This is the basketball team's final game of 2010 as they will open their SEC schedule on Jan 8th against Kentucky. Today's game tips at 1:00pm and will be broadcast on Fox Sports South so it will be a nice under card event for the Liberty Bowl which kicks off today at 3:30pm.

Eastern Kentucky comes into Athens with a 5-7 record overall and are 1-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference. They currently are on a three game losing streak having dropped their last contest 63-49 to Tennessee State. As has been the theme throughout the last few non conference games, Georgia will have a size advantage along the frontcourt but this time not necessarily in the backcourt. Rebounding will be a priority along with perimeter defense as the Colonels primary offensive weapon is the three point shot.
