2011 BCS Championship Game: Auburn Meeting Oregon In Likely Shootout

After running away with the SEC Championship Game in record fashion, the Auburn Tigers are set to take on the Oregon Ducks in the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 10 in Glendale, Arizona. The Ducks beat the Oregon St. Beavers to finish a 12-0 season and lock up a Pac-10 title. Prepare for basketball scoring.

Auburn is No. 8 in the nation in total offense, but Oregon is No. 1. The Tigers actually gain over half a yard more per play -- but Oregon runs a whole lot of plays per game. Auburn has set a school record by scoring more than 50 points in six games this year, while Oregon averages 50.5 points. Oregon RB LaMichael James leads the nation in rushing yardage.

The knock against Auburn all year has been their defense, which isn't the case with Oregon. The Ducks D ranks ninth in the nation in yards per play despite facing the nation's 19th-best schedule according to Sagarin.
