Braves Are Cruising To A Successful Draft

The Braves have now signed all but one of their first 17 draft picks, an impressive feat. They’ve also already signed several more picks than they did last year.

Third-round pick, third baseman Joe Leonard, is the lone holdout in that group. He is also considered the closest player to the Majors among this year’s Braves draft class.

Perhaps the best part of this year’s draft is that we really haven’t gone too far over slot to sign any of these guys, and not having a proper first round pick means we have way more money to spend on some of the under-drafts in the later rounds.

This is already a good draft, and if some of those later players are signed for big bonuses, this could turn into one of the best and deepest drafts the Braves have ever had.
