Jeff Schultz at the AJC says the Braves should hire Fredi Gonzalez now, as some type of special assistant slash manager in waiting. It actually wouldn't be a bad idea to get him in the organization now if indeed the Braves want him to succeed Bobby.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports might have the quote of the day in sticking it to Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria:
If there is any justice, the 2011 World Series will feature a showdown between Loria's two ex-managers - Gonzalez, who becomes a leading candidate to succeed Bobby Cox with the Braves, and Joe Girardi, who won last year's Series with the Yankees.
I'll take that.
