DJ Shockley To Compete With JaMarcus Russell For Starting Job?

According to the National Football Post, former Dawgs and Falcons quarterback DJ Shockley will attend minicamp with the UFL’s Omaha Nighthawks.

The quarterbacks listed in one place or the other on the team’s website within the past few days: former Redskin Patrick Ramsey, journeyman Brian St. Pierre, and sizzurp enthusiast JaMarcus Russell. Russell, as we recall, is the only first-round quarterback bust who’s currently also physically busty.

For Shockley, Omaha is a long way from the 2005 SEC Championship Game. That game will likely go down as the game of his career, as he quarterbacked the Dawgs to a convincing victory over the LSU Tigers led by … JaMarcus Russell.

Russell was listed on the Nighthawks' roster over the weekend, yet wasn't included in a front page poll on which Nighthawk we’re most excited about. (Everyone's losing to Rocky Ross, whom you’ve never heard of. Nebraskans thirst for mystery, especially mysteries that sound like rappers from Miami.)

I'd say there's a 49% chance Russell is actually on the team, meaning [completion percentage joke].
