Derrek Lee Deal Done

The Braves have completed a deal to acquire Derrek Lee from the Chicago Cubs. This one cropped up rather quickly, with reports that talks were happening this morning, wrapping up around 30 minutes ago, and only requiring the completion of the Cubs' afternoon contest to be announced.

Lee hasn't been having his best season, but he's been heating up lately, most recently having a four-home run series against the Cardinals last weekend.

The Braves are sending RHP Robinson Lopez, RHP Tyrell Harris, and LHP Jeffrey Lorick back to the Cubs in this deal. Additionally, the Cubs will be sending over some cash in the swap, presumably to lighten the financial burden on the Braves of picking up the the approximately $3.8 million he's still owed for the year.
