Freddie Freeman, J.C. Boscan, Scott Proctor, and Michael Dunn are the Braves first set of September call-ups. Kenshin Kawakami was optioned to Danville and was replaced on the roster by Nate McLouth -- this makes McLouth available on the roster today.
Stephen Marek, Craig Kimbrel, and Cristhian Martinez are expected to be called up when Gwinnett's season ends next week.
The Braves really only added arms, with the exception of Freeman and Boscan. I doubt Boscan gets many, if any, plate appearances. He will serve as a third catcher and allow the Braves to use David Ross or Brian McCann as pinch-hitters without having to worry about lacking a back up.
