Atlanta Falcons-Pittsburgh Steelers Cheatsheet

From the Twitter of the Falcons’ Daniel Cox:

The pre-game cheatsheet is always a must-read. Here are a few highlights:

Under head coach Mike Smith, Atlanta is 2-0 in opening weekend games. Since the regular season expanded to 16 games in 1978, the Falcons have the sixth-best winning percentage in the NFC in the league’s opening weekend, going 24-20. Since ’78, teams that win their first game of the season are twice as likely to reach the playoffs. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is 3-0 in the season’s first games.

Undrafted free agent tight end Michael Palmer, 2010 free agent signing Dunta Robinson, 2009 Falcons practice squad member Antone Smith and the 2010 draft class are the only new additions to the Falcons’ 53-man roster. According to ESPN’s John Clayton, Atlanta is tied with the Minnesota Vikings for the fewest new additions to a team’s roster.
